It was a custom that the triesner spinning room was closed at 10 o´clock.
Then the people from the lower village went home with their sledges.

A lad invited his girl to a ride, with him, on his sledge.
Okay let´s go in god´s name. was her answer.
You can go in god´s name,
I will go in the devil´s name! was his answer.
And that´s where they went.

Soon the girl fell of the sledge, but she didn´t suffer any harm.

The lad was no longer able to keep control and drove straightaway into the rhine, where he drowned.
