I miss America Songtext / Lyric

Robert & Flo - I miss America Songtext

I miss America Songtext
When I was a young kid, I was always playing,
Cowboys and Indians, like most boys in the world: Fighting for the future, that’s what I was dreaming,
My gun was bringing justice, to a crazy world. Bad guys were called jerks then,
Cause with all due respect,
Real men shouldn’t care about,
what’s politically correct.

I miss America, the way it used to be,
I miss America, the land of the free,
The land for the dreamer, the land for you and me,
I miss America, the way it used to be.
When I was getting older, I began to travel,
From busy New York City, to the skyline of LA,

The people still were happy, and friendly to a stranger
People said “Excuse me”, when passing someone’s way
Pretty girls you could call pretty
And with all due respect,
To always think things but not say them,
Has a negative effect.

I miss America, the way it used to be,
I miss America, the land of the free,
The land for the dreamer, the land for you and me,
I miss America, the way it used to be.

Today there’s always bad news, and blaming all the others
People have forgotten, what had make them strong
It was helping one another, and sometimes also praying,
Believing in the future, and sometimes having fun

I really hope it’s gonna change soon,
Cause with all due respect,
Today it really sucks,
And this is really not correct

I miss America, the way it used to be,
I miss America, the land of the free,
The land for the dreamer, the land for you and me,
I miss America, the way it used to be.
Bring me back America, the way it used to be,
Cause I love America, the way it used to be!
