Phil Ochs Biografie

Philip David Ochs (* 19. Dezember 1940 in El Paso, Texas, Vereinigte Staaten; † 9. April 1976 in Far Rockaway, New York) war ein US-amerikanischer Sänger, Songwriter und politischer Aktivist. Er sang vor allem Protestsongs oder, wie er es selbst nannte, „topical songs“ (Lieder über aktuelle Themen), wandte sich vornehmlich auf seinen späteren Alben aber auch persönlicheren Themen zu.
