The girl next door she really blew my mind

Up until that time we were the best of friends

Never did I think that it would ever end

I tried so hard to tell her how I feel

But back then I kind thought I had no sex appeal

And Lord knows I had to bite my lip not to cry

When she told me she was going out whit this older guy



Just a moment from my diary

Feels like a million years away

Wonder if I'd told her how I felt

Would she be with me today



Just like the beating wings of a butterfly

Can make a thunderstorm in another time

Every second is a chance to change the course of your life

And life goes by in a blink of an eye






It was the first year of my senior high

I met a girl she made me kiss the sky

She could be Spring, Winter, Summer or Fall

All in one day, oh it was beautiful

But sad to say she was too much for me

She wanted to be my first priority

It's either me or your music she said

Well I guess I'll play my piano instead



I know she must've hated me

I never meant to do her wrong

So to contemplate that casualty

I wrote this song
