I witnessed all these violent deaths
men robbed of their final breaths
walls adorned with paintings of blood
testify the terror set in stones black windows stare like empty eyes
a dreadful memory which never dies
hidden in its haunted past
the traces of its deviant caste whispering corridors now silently sleep
a silence that they carefully keep

now time has come for one last end
my serpent tongue curls
as I ascend
the steps to the burning hill
its eyes sewn shut
a testament to the kill

still the crypt of echo remains
