Green On Red Biografie
Green on Red war eine US-amerikanische Rockband, die aus der Punkszene von Tucson hervorging, aber die meiste Zeit ihres Bestehens in Los Angeles beheimatet war, wo sie locker mit dem Paisley Underground in Verbindung stand. Ihre frühen Aufnahmen haben den ausufernd psychedelischen Sound des frühen Desert Rock mit gelegentlichen Pop-Anklängen, welche durch die wenig pop-taugliche Stimme des Sängers Dan Stuart gemildert wurden. Bei späteren Aufnahmen klangen sie mitunter wie eine etwas „kaputte“ amerikanische Version der Rolling Stones. Aus heutiger Sicht gelten Green on Red als Klassiker des Alternative Country der 1980er Jahre und als eine der am meisten unterschätzten US-amerikanischen Bands.
